Why Oat Milk Lattes Are Still Everyone's Fall Order

A few years ago, oat milk was the "alternative" option. Now it's often the default order at the counter, and fall is really where it shines.

Oat milk steams up thicker and creamier than most other plant-based milks, which means it holds latte art better and gives drinks a rounder, slightly sweet mouthfeel without added sugar. Paired with the deeper, spicier flavors of fall — brown sugar, maple, chai — that natural creaminess balances things out instead of getting lost.

It's also just an easier switch for a lot of people. Oat milk doesn't curdle the way some nut milks can when mixed with acidic espresso, and it doesn't have the strong flavor that almond or coconut milk can bring, so it plays well with basically anything on our fall menu.

If you haven't tried it, our Brown Sugar Oat Shaken Espresso is the easiest way in — it's built around oat milk rather than having it added as an afterthought. We keep both regular and oat milk stocked and steamed fresh all day, so switching is never a hassle.
